I know I haven’t written for a long time. But with the new year, I will try to be more consistent.
Fall was a busy time. My co-author and I presented at two national conferences: NCTE and YALSA symposium. For both, we talked LGBTQIA+ books and issues. I’m sorry that this is still a problem we must discuss in libraries. Equity and diversity have been hot topics for so long, but it seems we still have so far to go. I will continue to push for support and equity as long as there are none.
I also presented at our state school library conference, 5 sessions!! Okay, most were with co-presenters, but still ….
Lest you feel too bad for me, I managed to take an 11-day cruise at the end of October! I saw many beautiful places as we cruised around the boot of Italy. I ate lots of great food, read some splendid books, and had time to relax.
